Words for thought.
As people or "children of GOD" I believe that we have a responsibility or even an obligation to be kind to others. To not judge. To not be hurtful. To be nicer than people think we should. There have been many times when I have been judge or my action looked down on. It hurts. It isn't a good feeling. It makes you question yourself. What are you supposed to do in these situations? It is hard to turn the other cheek. To not react. To return the judgement, anger, or misunderstanding with love. As followers of the word of GOD, that is what we are told to do.
When people involved in the situation look back, are they going to connect your reaction to what you believe? People may not understand how or why you are still being "nice". It doesn't matter. What matters is you know that you are following what you believe. What you know to be true in your heart.
It is almost like reverse psychology. When your anger is returned with kindness, can you continue to be angry? When some one passes judgement (or whatever else) on you, are you any better by returning it?
Luke doesn't say that we have to agree with what others are doing. However it says that it isn't our place to judge. Who are you to pick the speck out of your neighbors eye when you have a plank in your own?
I believe we are here to learn. We learn through trails and tests. It may be hard to turn the other cheek or to walk away. There are somethings that seem "unforgivable". I believe with time it can be forgiven (you may never talk to that person again, but it wont bother you anymore).
Just try it one time. It is harder than it seems, but well worth the free feeling.
