Your opinion DOES matter

I have always wondered why girls let what people say get to them. Why do girls think that they need to look a certain way or be a certain size? But, sadly, I now understand why. It pains me to admit but I have become one of "those" girls, the type I have never understood. Now I understand why they feel like the need to be something they are not. We want so desperately to be loved by the one we love that we feel as if we should do anything and everything to make them love us. We want to hear that we are beautiful and attractive. To hear this it means that we have to be thin, have a good body, perfect skin, and good boobs. It is sad that our self worth relies on the opinions of others, and our outer appearance. Why can't we love ourselves and not care what others think about how we look? Why can't we be happy with what GOD has given us? It breaks my heart that I am now this way because I have always been such a strong, hard-headed, don't give 2 shits less what you think of me, type of person. It amazes me how one event can forever change your opinion of yourself and no matter how hard you try to get over it, you cant.
