My arm (insert sad face here)

Today I got my cast off. Only to replace the green, colored on one, with a hot pink, kid free one.

My 20 minutes of freedom included x-rays, in the most painful positions imaginable, picking weeks of skin off, the dr looking, and finally washing it. After that it was right back into a cast. UGH!

On a good note, he says everything looks great. My fingers have a good range of motion. Out of the 8 pins in my hand, 2 are pushing on my skin. He said that they may poke through, but no big deal! Are you kidding me? BIG DEAL! Not really though. I would be fine if they did but the thought terrifies me.

Lucky for you I took some pictures of my arm while waiting for the dr. I will explain them

This is my top incision. It is roughly 6-7 inches long. I expressed concern because that and my hand were numb when I touched them. The dr explained that is very common when you pull back the skin to work on your hand. O ok. If you noticed towards the top of the picture my arm looks crooked. Its not. That is the plate I now have in my arm.

This is a side shot. Again it is a 6-7 inch incision. Which holds a 6 inch plate and 6 screws.

This is the same thing just closer.

Im really not kidding when I say I have a hardware store in my arm. But on a serious note, I'm very glad to have such a great dr, and assistant. They have helped alot. Im very grateful to have such a great husband who is willing to help me, with minimal eye rolling. Im glad everything is healing well. I am however TERRIFIED for physical therapy

Great pictures! Are these before or after the doctor washed it? Ewwww....

Physical therapy is going to suck, but it'll pass. Before you know it, you'll be working at your normal level and pace!

Take it easy!
